Position Role

Lundin Malaysia is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic lawyer to join its legal team. This role will suit lawyers who view themselves as legally sound, commercially astute and quick to identify relevant realistic risks in particular transactions. Skilled negotiators with people skills will have an added advantage in this role. The role can fit senior lawyers and training opportunities will be available to young lawyers who meet requirements set out below.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

– Negotiate and draft contractual documents required in the company’s business including
exploration contracts, drilling contracts, development related contracts and other procurement documents.
– Support the business development and new ventures functions of the company by negotiating and drafting contracts such as joint bidding contacts, farm-in and farm-out contracts.
– Advise on contractual strategy and contract structures.
– Manage the litigation process.
– Advise on production sharing contracts and joint operating agreements.
– Review tender qualifications and draft contractual clauses to implement the company’s policies.
– Promote compliance with the industry and company procurement guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS

– Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience with a minimum of 3 years in an oil and gas related environment.
– Strong foundation in contract law.
– Good communication skills and excellent command of English.
– Able to draft contractual clauses
– Ability to be assertive in implementing the Company’s policies.
– Strong analytical and lateral thinking skills
– Able to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
– Efficient time manager.
– Commercial acumen.
– Proficient in MS Word.
– Fluent in spoken Bahasa Malaysia.
